Background to writing this article
I tried installing Windows 10 Technical Preview before, but new preview builds didn't work and gave up.
However, I tried again by saying that a new build 9926 came out this time, and that Cortana and Japanese were also supported.
How to install
This time I wanted to do a new installation, so I created a USB memory for installation and set it up.
Creating a USB memory for installation
Windows 10 Technical Preview is distributed as an ISO image.
If you use it as it is, you can mount it or burn it to a DVD, but this time create a USB memory that can start the installer.
Use Windows 7 USB / DVD Download Tool made by Microsoft.
Download and install “Windows7-USB-DVD-Download-Tool-Installer-en-US.exe” from CodePlex's Windows USB / DVD Download Tool .
After that, the following screen will start up.
First, let's specify the downloaded Windows 10 Technical Preview ISO image in the "Source File".
When asked about the media to be created, select "USB Device".
In the screen to select the USB device, specify the drive to actually write.
A dialog will appear confirming that all the selected USB devices will be deleted. If there is no problem, select “Yes”.
USB media creation begins.
Although it depends on the speed of the connected media, it will take a few minutes.
When a completion message appears, exit the software.
The USB device created by the above procedure can be booted by itself.
Windows 10 installation flow
Teclast X89HD uses UEFI, so it was started with the following procedure.
- Open the settings from the charm etc. and select "Maintenance & Management | Recovery"
- Click "Restart Now" in "Customize PC Startup" to restart
- Insert the created USB device for setup into the PC. The USB-HUB is sandwiched for the convenience of connecting the keyboard and mouse.
- Select “Use Device” on the “Select Options” screen, select the USB device, and reboot again
- Setup of Windows 10 will start, so proceed with the installation
If you skip the OS, you can enter the BIOS screen with the DEL key at startup, so you can specify the boot device from there.
Most Teclast X89HD devices do not have drivers on the Windows 10 Technical Preview side.
Teclast itself is not officially provided as a single driver, so it is a good idea to download the drivers grouped in the forum from the link below.
Download "X89HD_WIN8_X86_Drivers.zip" from http://www.uzzf.com/qudong/79892.html and unpack it.
After that, if you install all the drivers from the right-click of the .inf, it should be recognized on the device manager.
Let's put IO system and Controller system first.
However, just putting this driver group would fix the screen rotated 180 degrees, so it was necessary to write the driver and registry for the next link.
Inserting this driver activates the screen rotation lock function.
The procedure is troublesome, but now that you can use Windows 10 Technical Preview, I want to play around with it.
e? I didn't back up my website! ?
